Bubbles forming and bursting

To me it seems like when one bubble bursts we get in another bubble.
from '95 to '01 we had the dot-com bubble and declined for roughly 2-3 years.
Immediately after the burst burst of the dot-com bubble we were in the housing bubble (2001-2005).
The housing bubble burst 2006 and has been declining ever since.
Now we are in the oil bubble.

My guess on it is that when one bubble bursts people put there money in another bubble until that bursts. Because it is all about getting a higher return.

Let me know what you guys think.

But what I don't understand is towards the end of the video the chimpanzee stands next to the fence and starts look at the people and claps.
Why does he stand up and clap is very interesting.

What is interesting, is the fact that "NY" in the Microsoft font Wingdings does produce "death to the Jews" in symbolic form. Whether this was done intentionally or not I have no idea. The reason I think it is interesting is because NY has one of the highest population of Jews in the USA and throughout the world.

Albanians rescue Jews in WW2 - plus videos

I was playing around with Google, looking for interesting videos.
To my surprise I came across a set of videos dedicated on the courageous Albanians who saved the lives of Jews during WW2 while putting there lives on the line.

The videos are filled with a lot of information about how individual Albanians would risk there own lives to save the life of a Jew or a family of Jews. This act done by Albanian individuals made an impact on the fact that not one Jew in Albania was sent to a concentration camp during the holocaust. It was a 100% rescue of the Jews from the Holocaust. I am not sure if an other country under Axis domination could boast about this.

Solar Powered Bike- eco friendly

Before I showed you the solar umbrella.
Now there is a solar powered bike.
The bike automatically charges the batteries on the bike for later use. It can go up to 19 miles an hour.
You really don't need to go more than that do to safety concerns.
The bike sells for $1,295 and there is a conversion kit for your current bike that costs $795.
I like the conversion kit idea. Wouldn't want to fill up those landfills any faster.

According to a Ohio State University's Comprehensive Cancer Center study, eating avocados may help prevent oral cancer.
It was not an extensive test but it did show some promise.

Guess what I will tell my younger brother?
I found scientific proof that the first born is the smartest of the siblings.
On average of course.
According to a New York Times article, this is the case.
But, the younger siblings have carved out a niche for themselves in the family also.
Younger siblings tend to be more adventurous.
Also, some of the greatest scientists where younger siblings, like Charles Darwin and Nicolaus Copernicus.

I was having lunch with a co-worker today talking about politics, Middle Eastern that is. It was my opinion that sooner or later there won't be an Israel if the current political pressures and demographic outlook doesn't change (seems like both are anti-Israel). My co-worker said that it will not be so. (He's a Japanese-American).

After work, I read an article on Mohammed Sayed Saber an Egyptian engineer accused of spying for the Mossad, had praised Israel in court. This is truly inspiring. There was no politics to his courtroom speech. He was saying what he felt, even at the cost of his own freedom. This is truely a brave and self-less act. Unlike the judge, Mohammed Reda Shwakat, who upon hearing the speech called him to the bench, so that the courtroom will become silent of the truth.

The speech, in its core, was a comparison of the society he lives in (Egyptian) and of the society he rather live in (Israeli).

I will start of May with throat singing.
I was playing around on the internet when I found something very interesting.
The sound was so strong and almost cuts through your soul.
It was very vivid for me, and reminded me of a sound a Buddhist would create.
This sound is produced by a technique called "Throat singing".
It is an unusual but pleasant sound.

At least that is what a team of American and French Scientists claim.
The test subjects were rats and the test was simple.

But, it does show a correlation if not a causation between the drug given to the rats and there behavior after hearing a sound which they previously associated with an electric shock.

This is a good start but different types of memories should be tested.
It might be just that this drug can selectively wipe out audial memory. Let's see what happens when trying to selectively wipe out visual or another sensory memory or a combination of other memories.

My feeling is that the more senses you have that contribute to a specific memory the harder it is to selectively wipe out.

Somewhere, between identical and fraternal twins lies semi-identical twins.
Identical twins share the same egg and sperm cell. Fraternal twins don't share the same egg or sperm cell but rather are born at the same time. Semi-fraternal twins share the same egg cell but a different sperm cell.

Wow, this is so fascinating. I wonder how many people think they are identical or fraternal twins but might be semi-fraternal twins.

According to certain studies there is a correlation between oral health and overall health.

Oral health effects the cardiovascular system (including the heart), diabetes and maybe the health of unborn babies. The link has not been well established with the health of unborn babies.

It is interesting how cleaning your teeth can reduce inflammation throughout the body. I have read from credible sources that westerners especially Americans mostly suffer from diseases linked with inflammation. So anything that can be done to decrease it seems worth it to me.

So grab that brush and clean those pearly whites.

An Israeli company is using plasma gasification melting technology (PGM) (note: like I know what that means) to turn low-level radioactive waste, garbage into clean-energy and a lava-like glass looking thing (that can be used in construction and roads).

This sounds very nice. The system was created by a joint effort between Russian and Israeli universities. Now think about the potential that exists if people work together not against each other.

Oh yeah, the system is currently working in Israel and it had the first reactor built as a proof of concept. Now they are having one built in Ukraine and are partnering up with an American company.

NASA’s PAV (Personal Air Vehicle) competition is funded with $2,000,000 in cash prizes.

Its goal, simple, to stimulate innovation and progress in PAV's.
Reason, NASA believes that in the not to distant future close to half of all miles traveled in the USA will be in PAV's. How exciting!!!

Imagine that, it sounds great and all. I am all for it. But this will just magnify the statistics in motor vehicle accidents and now no one will be safe from a drunk pilot, not even in the comfort of your own home.

But I think we are some time away from stepping in the family plane parked in the backyard.

Several studies were published at the "Journal of Vision" this month that claim speed reading is impossible.

There is a biological limit on the speed of your reading. This limit is largely impacted on your visual span.

The article in Livescience.com brings up the fact that people with eye conditions that restrict the visual span also decreases the reading speed.

It seems like one's visual span and speed of reading is positively correlated. Maybe, if someone had mutation that allowed him or her an increased visual span they would be able to speed read. Just a thought.

Not quite, but a scientific experiment showed that musicians brainstem is altered.

It was thought that the brainstem was unchangeable and not involved in complex processes. But, that all changed after an experiment that proved the brain stem actually can become altered and rewired.

These experiment leads to a whole class of questions related to how and why the brainstem is able to change.

I wonder if listening to music with high degree of complexity can improve intelligence by rewiring the cerebral cortex?

I will put on some Mozart now and lets see how long it will take me to become a genius. :)

It works like your regular computer printer but in 3-D and instead of ink is uses cement.
Wow what a great idea!!

The website claims a 2,000 sq ft home can be built in a 24 hr period.

I just read an interesting article on time travel.
It seems that most scientists think it is impossible to travel back in time. A minority believe it is theoretically possible but impractical.
But, traveling to the future is theoretically possible but you probably won't be able to come back.
Interesting.

But, this brings me to a point not about physics but about people.
When looking at my life there are many things that I would like to change.
If it was possible to go back in time and tell myself in the past what not to do and do, I would.
But that is not at all possible.
I have for the past few months tried to make everything count in my life. So that I won't look back and wish to go back in time.

Time machines are a part of our fantasy. Some dream about it and would use it to fix something in the past. So, my philosophy is living life to the fullest so that there won't be a need to fantasize about a time machine.

Many people would also fantasize about using a time machine to change the course of history. Like killing Hitler or stopping him from achieving power.
That is a noble cause, so my answer would be instead of wishing to change the past, lets change the present for the good. So that your children wouldn't want a time machine to fix something that happened in our time. :)
